Jeffrey Zhu

Jeffrey Zhu is a Toronto-based percussionist who is currently pursuing a Master’s in performance at UofT. He completed his Undergrad in performance at UofT, studying with John Rudolph, Beverley Johnston, Aiyun Huang, and Charles Settle. Jeffrey’s musical interests vary greatly as he regularly plays in orchestras, opera, musical theatre, and wind band in addition to a jazz combo as a pianist. As an advocate of new music, Jeffrey recently presented his commission “Titan: for solo car muffler and electronics” by Anthony Gunadi at the 2025 Transplanted Roots Research Symposium in Portugal. A versatile and collaborative artist, Jeffrey brings a forward-thinking voice to contemporary music.
