Cale Fladager

Biography

Cale Fladager is a harmonica player, improviser, composer, poet, multi-instrumentalist, and artist, currently based in Toronto, Ontario. Hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan, and growing up in Warsaw, Poland, Cale has developed a unique style of harmonica playing deeply influenced both by free improvising musicians from around the world and by legendary voices from across the history of the harmonica in genres spanning from jazz, to classical, to country. Cale is dedicated to his work pushing the harmonica past what is thought possible on the instrument, all the while maintaining a deep connection with the history of the harmonica instrument family, composing and playing not just chromatic and diatonic harmonicas, but bass, chord, harmonetta, and modern innovations on the instrument as well.
