Pouria Zarei

Biography

Pouria Zarei is a Toronto-based audio engineer, pianist, composer, and visual artist. He holds a Master of Music in Music Technology and Digital Media from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Art in Tehran. Pouria collaborated with the minMAX Electroacoustic Orchestra as a live sound and recording engineer, supporting the ensemble’s performances and documenting its work through high-quality multichannel audio recording. His work spans concert and studio recording, music production, live sound, mixing, immersive audio, photography, and videography. As an audio engineer, Pouria has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, ensembles, and institutions, with a particular interest in contemporary, classical, and electroacoustic music. Pouria has also worked extensively with the University of Toronto’s Electronic Music Studio and Recording Services, providing live sound and recording for concerts and events, and he currently works as an Audio Engineer at the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School. Alongside his work in audio, Pouria also works in photography and videography. His photography includes street and documentary work, where he is interested in observing and capturing everyday life, people, and places. He also works on more project-based visual productions, including concert photography and video recording, music video production and editing, studio photography, and portraiture.
